Covid-19 and Candy Corner

22/3/21

The Angling Trust has confirmed that matches will be able to start again from the 29th of March 2021. From our point of view, this is service as normal. Pleasure angling match fishing and our takeaway food service will all commence on the 30th March 2021.

12th June 2020

The cafe is reopening from today for takeaway. Hot sandwiches and hot or cold drinks available.

Booking online is no longer essential but does guarantee your visit and peg. Cash and card now accepted.

I have opened up all the pegs on AJ's for day ticket bookings for Wednesdays and Fridays and the odd day where there are no matches booked. Hoskers pegs 11-20 are still socially distanced and spread every other peg until further notice. Jake's pond is still pegged 1,5 and 8 only.

Match bookings are now in full swing with normal service resumed. I can now start to take match bookings for the rest of this year and beyond.

26th May 2020

Match fishing is back on from today. Please read these pages carefully and treat it like a bible.

13th May 2020

Lockdown will be eased on Wednesday and fishing is allowed once more. We have opened up our pegs for online booking only for the time being. However pegs are only available for pleasure fishing, matches and organised events are still banned.

We are closely following the Angling Trust's guidelines so please take a read and get informed.

29th April 2020

In light of the current lockdown, our site is completely closed down for business and will continue to be until the ban is lifted.

For those that have matches booked, we will be dealing with this in a few different ways. If you have a match booked during lockdown but failed to pay a deposit or make any payment at all your match will simply be canceled. If your club has paid any amount of money towards your match within the period of the lockdown then you can try and reschedule your match for another time. We could also transfer your balance to another booking you currently have later on in the year or next year.

Please understand that we take bookings years in advance so rescheduling may be difficult to get the days and lakes you require but we do have many pegs available this year and next so feel confident we can help each other. We simply ask that you be as flexible as possible and we will do the same during these unique times.

Because we don't know how long the lockdown will last I would ask that all clubs wait until after their matches were scheduled before getting in touch to reschedule. This will hopefully make it fair on those with earlier bookings and stop people rebooking that may not need to if the ban is lifted.

If you are a club organizer please contact me on 07769902731 preferably by text so I can get back to you quicker if otherwise engaged.

Everyone stay safe, you will be on the bankside soon.

Jamie

  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy, or hospital. Stay at home.
